FotoAmsterdam.com respects your privacy. This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains which personal data and cookies are used when you visit our website, create an account, contact us or order a photo licence.

1. Who is responsible?

FotoAmsterdam.com, operated by Peter Bartelings, is responsible for processing personal data through this website. If you have any questions about privacy, please contact p.bartelings@fotoamsterdam.com.

2. What data do we process?

Depending on how you use the website, we may process the following data:

  • name and email address;
  • account and login details;
  • billing details and, where applicable, address details;
  • order details, the selected licence and download rights;
  • messages you send through a contact form or by email;
  • technical data required for security and for the website and shopping basket to function.

We only process data necessary to fulfil an order or agreement, manage your account and downloads, answer questions, secure the website and comply with legal obligations.

3. Accounts, orders and downloads

A customer account allows you to view orders and available downloads and manage your account details. WooCommerce stores order and download details in the website’s secure database. Passwords are not stored in readable form. You may ask us to delete your account; data that we are legally required to retain cannot be erased immediately.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. FotoAmsterdam.com currently does not use advertising or marketing cookies, and Google Analytics is not active. The following functional cookies may be placed when you use the shop, shopping basket or account features.

Cookie Purpose Retention period
woocommerce_cart_hash Recognises when the contents of the shopping basket change. Session

These cookies are necessary for a function you request, such as signing in, using a shopping basket, checking out or receiving a download. They are therefore placed without prior consent. They are not used to track you for advertising.

5. Limited shop statistics

WooCommerce may record limited information about the source of an order during a session. This helps us understand which page or referral led to an order. This information is not used for advertising profiles or remarketing.

6. External services and links

If you choose to sign in with Google, use an external payment service or follow a link to Art Heroes or a social network, that provider’s privacy and cookie terms also apply. FotoAmsterdam.com only shares data required for the selected service or to fulfil the order.

7. Contact forms and email

We use data you provide through a form or by email solely to answer your message and provide the related service. We do not disclose this data for advertising purposes.

8. Retention and security

We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, except where a statutory retention obligation applies. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

9. Your rights

You may request access to, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal data. You may also object to processing. Send your request to p.bartelings@fotoamsterdam.com. We may request additional information to verify your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

10. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the shopping basket, checkout, login and download features may not function correctly.

11. Changes

We may update this policy if the website, the services used or applicable law changes. The latest version will always be available on this page. Before activating non-essential analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will first ask for consent where required.
