I am Peter Bartelings, photographer and founder of FotoAmsterdam.com. Born and raised in Amsterdam, I specialise in fine art photography of Amsterdam’s canals, historic bridges, cityscapes, and the beautiful Dutch countryside. After a career in information and knowledge management, I decided to dedicate myself entirely to photography and creating high-quality wall art.

For many years, I cycled through Amsterdam in search of perfect light, dramatic skies, and unique perspectives of the city’s iconic canals and architecture. During the COVID period, I had the rare opportunity to photograph an almost empty Amsterdam, capturing timeless images of the city without crowds or tourists.

Today, I also photograph the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, the North Sea coast, Dutch flower fields, and local wildlife around Noordwijkerhout. The contrast between Amsterdam’s vibrant city life and the tranquillity of nature continues to inspire my work.

My photographic style is characterised by strong composition, clean lines, rich contrasts, and a sense of serenity. Over the years, I have built an extensive collection of Amsterdam photography, black and white canal prints, landscape photography, tulip photography, wildlife photography, and macro photography. My fine art prints and wall decor can be found in homes and offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, and Sweden.
