The Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge) in Amsterdam

The Magere Brug, internationally known as the Skinny Bridge, is one of Amsterdam’s most recognisable and romantic locations. Looking for Magere Brug wall art or a Skinny Bridge photo print? When its hundreds of lights come on and their glow reflects in the River Amstel, this historic drawbridge becomes especially atmospheric. As an Amsterdam-born photographer, I have photographed the bridge over the years in very different conditions: during blue hour, in the evening, in mist and from several viewpoints along the Amstel. The images are also available with a suitable digital photo licence for professional use.

Fairytale Amsterdam

For me, this evening photograph is one of the images that best captures the atmosphere around the Magere Brug. The illuminated bridge immediately draws the eye, while the houseboats in the foreground and long reflections on the water add depth and tranquillity. To bring the bridge’s hundreds of lights to life on the wall, choose a premium Amsterdam photograph on acrylic glass
